I bought a "Real" phone!

I've never been big on cell phones, or any phones for that mater. I don't like talking on them and I don't get the appeal of spending $500 for the latest and greatest phone and then another $200 a month for the service plan and then another $500 once your phone goes out of style.

I like to have a phone, especially when I go somewhere alone, for emergency reasons, but they are not that essential to me. We don't even have a house phone anymore.

For the past 3 or so years I've been using a cheap-o "pay as you go" phone and it's worked out fine. Then the other day it says "UNREGISTERED SIM CARD" and stops working. I don't know what was up with that. But it made me reevaluate my phone situation/stance/opinion.

After some research and some convincing from Hubs I decided to order a "real" phone. It wasn't $500 dollars or the latest and greatest but it's a HUGE step up for me (it's actually another "pay as you go" but with a different company and web browsing ect.). It should arrive any day and I'm so excited!!

  1. I also don't really see the necessity of a phone. I got my "fancy" phone during a Valentine's day sale, so it was free. (after the rebate, blah, blah, blah). And with JD's discount through work, it was actually cheaper to add the internet package to our service (you had to be over a certain $ amt monthly to qualify for the discount).

So, I look like I care. But I really don't ask anybody how often I answer my phone. I am much easier to reach on the internet than by phone.
